Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe working environment (within a construction based role)by implementing safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and promoting best practices within the organisation. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and developing strategies to mitigate risks.
Duties
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform root cause analysis on incidents and near misses to identify underlying issues and prevent recurrence.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in line with industry standards.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance issues for management review.
- Provide training and support to employees on safety practices, including first aid procedures.
- Collaborate with various departments to foster a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation and best practices in health and safety management.
Skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively.
- Excellent report writing skills, capable of producing clear and concise documentation.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and ability to provide training in this area is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage staff at all levels.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
